Slabs of rock are usually the costliest materials for edging and building materials, but smaller rocks are a durable and affordable option. Below, we've included information on the most common types of landscaping rocks: pea gravel, gravel, crushed stone, river rocks and decomposed granite.
These were added on top of the drainage rocks for looks and really made the patio pop. However, they were very large rocks some up to 4 inches. These were definitely not chips and we bought over 30 bags. Sizes were inconsistent and ranged from pea gravel sized rocks at the bottom of the bags to very large rocks on top.
